So I normally do a blog post every Friday and while I am really happy that I’ve stuck to that since I started back in August, today will be the first day I haven’t had one prepared.
There are several reasons for this:
I am currently in a city called Bielsko in Poland. I am here doing a four day intensive writing session for the Indie game, Seven: The Days Long Gone, a game I have been writing for about a year. Today represents the second day of my trip and I’ve already clocked in an impressive 15 hours of work since getting here.
The day after I quit my job at Dambuster Studios I started to feel a little ill. I thought it was my body just taking a breather after I took the foot off the gas for the first time in months. I was wrong. Today my illness decided to kick it up a notch and now I’ve got a full blown cold. I can’t breathe, my throat feels as dry as a bone, and my sinuses are trying to push their way out of my head or so it feels like.
So there you have it. My reasons why there is no real blog post this week.
“But, Stephen, isn’t this kind of a blog post?” I hear you ask. Well yes it is, but not really. This is me writing something, but it’s not what I would have liked to be writing.
The way I work with this blog is I have a dozen or so topics all ready to go and when it comes to the start of a week I just pick one and start writing. I then post the resulting article on the Friday around midday. This is me just saying I’m here, but I’m too busy and too ill to have found time this week to write such a blog post.
I didn’t want to just write nothing though so we have this. I’m sorry that it’s not as interesting or as long as my normal posts, and I’m sorry it comes across as a bit of a moan, but I’m British so I see as my national prerogative to have a moan every now and then.
I’ll be back next week with a proper topic for discussion no matter what microorganism is attempting to consume my body from within.
Have a good week everyone!
